Dr. Kathy Collins is the proprietor of Veterinary Surgical Services, PLLC. Dr. Collins is a specialist in small animal surgery, achieving Board Certification from the American College of Veterinary Surgeons (ACVS). To attain this level of expertise and recognition requires completion of an internship and a 3-year surgical residency, followed by passing a rigorous certification examination administered by ACVS. Dr. Collins has been working in specialty surgical practice since completion of her residency in July 2000.
Education and Experience
Dr. Collins earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at the Atlantic Veterinary College, University of Prince Edward Island. After completing a rotating small animal medicine and surgery internship at Kansas State University, Dr. Collins attended the University of Florida, College of Veterinary Medicine, where she completed her Small Animal Surgery Residency. She has spent the last 10 years in a private referral practice, most recently serving as Chief of Surgery at Northview Veterinary Specialty Services. Dr. Collins work and research have been published in several professional journals and online. In addition, she has been awarded numerous research grants. Dr. Collins has taught and presented nationally and has been honored for her academic and clinical proficiencies.
Dr. Collins is a member of the NYS Veterinary Medical Society, Genesee Valley Veterinary Medical Association, Pennsylvania Veterinary Medical Association, Society of Veterinary Soft Tissue Surgeons, Eastern Veterinary Orthopedic Society and the American College of Veterinary Surgeons.
